Patents’ new procedure and fees in Jordan
Starting January 2019, The
Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply in Amman, Jordan is applying a
new regulation regarding the Patent’s registration in Jordan, as well as
increasing the fees.
In fact, nowadays, patent
applications will be published following year and a half from the filing
date or year and a half from the priority date regardless of their
acceptance by the office. Formerly, only accepted patent applications
were published.
Therefore, with this new
regulation searching for pending patents’ applications is now available,
provided the payment of the fees.
As per the official fees, the new regulation now differentiates between individual and corporate applicants.
Accordingly, the patent official
fees have been looked into and re-organized to mirror the amendments in
agreement with the Patent Law amendments.
