New Conditions for Powers of Attorney in Kuwait
On
March 19, 2019, by circular, The Ministry of Trade and Economy in Kuwait
provided new conditions with respect of powers of attorney regarding
trademarks registrations.
According
to this new circular, late filing of PoAs and any other document is no
longer acceptable, therefore the PoA should be submitted with the
application on the same filing date.
Moreover,
if the applicant has several applications, each application requires a
separate PoA, otherwise the filing will be incomplete.
As well, the PoA will be valid for ten (10) years, renewable within six (6) months before its expiry.
Such circular will be effective on April 5, 2019, after the governing authority’s approval.
